Newsletter No.11 - 18th February 2013
Dear Parents,
I hope you all had a restful half term.
P.E KIT
Hopefully your child brought their P.E Kit home for a wash over half term. PLEASE make sure they remember to bring it back. Thank you.
HORSEMEAT SCARE
Please rest assured that all the meat we serve at school is locally sourced. Mrs Rush, our cook has visited our suppliers to ensure the quality of the produce. All of our meals except ‘fish fingers’ which are made from fish fillets are prepared on the premises. The Governors monitor the cost and the quality of our school meals regularly and take this responsibility very seriously.
CLUBS
All clubs continue this half term. Please note there will be no clubs on Monday March 11th as it is parents evening.
WESTBURY LIBRARY
Westbury Library has a new look children’s area. New features include a baby book start area and a theme of the month collection which this month features animal stories and facts. The new layout will help guide you and your child to choose the right book to read. Parents should also look out for the Parenting Collection, everything from birth to teens.
The Talk it Over collection is designed to help young children understand new experiences such as going to pre-school , family separations, visiting the dentist, etc. Books to encourage the dyslexic reader are also available as well as stories and rhymes on spoken word CDs.
Free rhyme time sessions for children aged 3years and under and their parents/carers are held every Friday at 11.00am. These are friendly and fun sessions which encourage the early development of language and social skills.
