Newsletter No.9 11th March 2014
Dear Parents,
Thank you for your wonderful support for World Book Day! The children looked superb in their costumes and I think gained much from the day. On Friday we had a professional dancer work with the children to dramatize stories, a lovely end to a super week.
READATHON
If your child took part in the Readathon sponsored challenge please return their sponsor money and cards by Friday 21st March. Thank you.
SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS
May I remind you orders for School Photographs need to be with us by Monday 17th March. Thank you.
PARENTS EVENING
Parent sign up lists for the Parents Evenings are now in the class cloakrooms. Parent’s evenings are Monday 17th March 3:20pm – 4:30pm and Tuesday 18th March 3:15pm – 6:50pm.
SLIGHT MENU CHANGES
We are suffering from high levels of staff absence. Owing to this there may be slight changes to the school menu this week as our cook is ill and Mrs Southall is coping bravely on her own. Hopefully normal service will be resumed next week.
SPORT RELIEF / NON SCHOOL UNIFORM
We will be marking Sport Relief on March 21st with a marathon run for Yr1 and Yr2 and ‘The Big Toddle’ for Yr R. If possible we would ask for a small donation towards Sports Relief and an Easter Egg in exchange for non school uniform for the WISH Easter Egg Tombola which is being held on Thursday April 3rd.
MOTHERS DAY
On Friday 28th March you are invited to come and watch the children sing some Mother’s Day songs. To accommodate everyone it will be an informal stand or sit on the floor event. Siblings are welcome too.
• Yr R parents are welcome at 9:15am
• Yr 1 & Yr 2 parents at 2:30pm
BOOK FAIR
On Wednesday 12th March a Travelling Book Fair will be in school. You are welcome to come and choose a book to buy from Thursday 13th March to Tuesday 18th March after school.
Kind Regards,
