Newsletter No.12 - 24th April 2014

Welcome back to school after the Easter break. I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy some of the lovely sunshine. For me, my first week as Head of Westbury Infants is nearly over. I have enjoyed meeting all the children and the parents too. What has struck me is the fantastic family feel of the school and I have heard some wonderful comments from parents about how happy their children are here. A little bit about me, I am married with 3 children (all boys 13, 11 and 7) and have been a teacher for 20 years. We have 2 dogs, 4 cats, 2 guinea pigs and a few goldfish so you could definitely say my house is pretty busy! I moved to Wiltshire from Devon, where I worked in a large, very successful, seaside Infants school for the last 10 years. Westbury Infants School is a great school, with a very committed staff and very enthusiastic children. I am really looking forward to my journey with you over the coming years. Please come and introduce yourself to me on the playground or pop into school - I am always happy to speak to you. I’d be really interested to hear your thoughts about our school and ideas you may have for the future. THANK YOU Dear parents and children, Thank you all so very much for all the flowers, cakes, chocolates, wine, pictures and kind wishes that you gave me at the end of term. I was truly overwhelmed by your generosity and by the lovely sentiments. My house was a sea of flowers! I have planted my roses, enjoyed the wine and chocolate and am still making my way through the cards and the children's messages and drawings. Westbury Infant School is a very special place and I know I am going to miss it and all of you. I have so many happy memories. I shall keep in touch and I know Mrs Budge will look after the school well. Every best wish and many thanks, Jan Ball. WISH NEWS, WISH & The Lions Rotary are looking for volunteers to help paint our trim trail on Sunday 27th April at 10am. Children and families are welcome. Weather Permitting. The Date of Next Meeting for WISH is the 7th May 2pm at School, New members are always welcome. Best wishes for a very happy and productive term, Stacey Budge Headteacher
