Newsletter No. 15 - 16th May 2014

News I hope that everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine. The children have been making the most of the lovely weather and are using the Orchard and Trim Trail every day. Please ensure that your children have hats in school to protect their heads from the sun and sun cream applied before they come to school. To ensure the safety of all children when running around, sunglasses are not allowed in school. Thank you to everyone who returned the school meals questionnaire (Reception and Year 1). Your views are very important to us and will be considered when making plans for September. It’s encouraging to know that most parents are keen to take up the offer of a free meal every day. If you haven’t returned your questionnaire yet, there is still time to do so. Or just speak to me on the playground. Class teams are currently planning summer trips for each year group. This is a lovely opportunity for the children to visit local beauty spots and enjoy a special time with their classmates. I am hoping to accompany each trip - let’s hope for dry days! As you will be aware, the cost of trips does mean that we rely on contributions from parents in order to go ahead. It really helps us if trips can be paid for promptly but we also understand that can be difficult for some families. Please feel able to talk to us if that is the case and we will do what we can to help. On a final note, we are looking for a volunteer to come in and give our reception bikes a maintenance check, please pop into the office for further details. Best wishes for a sunny weekend.
