NEWS It’s been a very busy week again here at Westbury Infant School with lots of learning and smiles. A few parents have expressed concerns about reports in the press concerning Halal meats. Having spoken to our Catering Manager who has made relevant enquiries, I can assure you that all our meat is locally sourced, within a 50 mile radius of the school and is not Halal meat. WISH Westbury Infant School Helpers is formed of Parents who are interested in helping to raise money to help the school and benefit all the children. It is a voluntary commitment, for which the school is very grateful and members do not profit in any way from being part of the group. The WISH group are very keen to welcome new members. The meetings take place usually on a Wednesday at school and the next meeting is on the 21st May 2014, 2pm. Please do come along and see what happens. As Headteacher, I always attend meetings and am there to help ideas become reality. If you would like any further information please come and see me. SPEEDMARK CHALLENGE & NON SCHOOL UNIFORM – Friday 23rd May 2014 Hopefully your child will have brought home a sponsor form for the Speedmark Challenge. This will be taking place on the last day of term, Friday 23rd May 2014 during school hours. We would like the children to come to school in non-school uniform with a theme of “Sporty Clothes” as the children will be participating in sporting activities throughout the day. Please remember to bring in your sponsorship forms and money raised to school by Friday 6th June (First week back after the half term break). SCHOOL DINNER MENUS Hot Dinner menus can be found online at www.westbury-inf.wilts.sch.uk or a paper copy is available in Reception by the photocopier. The menus are produced every two weeks. Dates for your Diary: Wed 14th May - Class Photos. Wed 21st May - WISH Meeting, 2pm. Fri 23rd May - Non School Uniform “Sporty Clothes”. WISH Cake Sale 3.05pm – 3.30pm. Last day of half term. Mon 2nd June - Back to School. Fri 13th June - Non School Uniform “WISH Fundraiser”. WISH School Disco 3.05pm – 4pm. Fri 20th June - 10am Sports Day, Junior School Field. (Weather Permitting). Tues 24th June - 10am Reserve Date for Sports Day. Fri 27th June - WISH Summer Fayre. Wed 16th July - 10am Dress Rehearsal Year 2 End of Year Performance.
