Newsletter No.4 - 3rd October 2014
WARLEIGH FARM The Year 1 children visited Warleigh Farm this week and all had the most wonderful time. They fed chickens, collected eggs, groomed donkeys, piglets, took a ride in the tractor and so many more things too! All the staff agreed it was one of the best trips they had organised and will use the day to inspire further learning as part of their topic.
NEXT WEEK the Year 2 children will be visiting the SS Great Britain as part of their topic on 'Journeys' and I am lucky to be accompanying them too! Thank you to WISH and those parents who supported the cake sale last week. The money raised is being used to subsidize the cost of the trip.
OUR YEAR R children have begun weekly 'welly walks' to explore the local area which is great fun. At the moment there are beautiful Autumn leaves to explore and gorgeous sunshine - lovely.
HARVEST FESTIVAL We are taking our Year 1 & 2 children to celebrate Harvest Festival on Monday 6th October at All Saints Church, Westbury. We hope you will be able to join us at 10am. We kindly ask Parents and siblings that will be attending the service to sit at the rear of the church. Thank you.
FACEBOOK We understand that many parents use social media as a way to communicate and share information and it is lovely to read positive reviews of our school. However, please think before posting versions of events where you do not have all the facts, as what you are posting may be completely untrue and could be construed as libellous. If you have any concerns about something that is said to have happened in school, please speak to us before making public comments. Staff are always available to talk to you, or you can ring us or email. Westbury Infant School is a wonderful place with amazing children and great parents and it's vital that we work together to solve any difficulties.
CLUBS Parents have received letters about clubs. Please return by Friday 10th October. You will be informed before the end of term in which club your child has a place. Where clubs are oversubscribed we will try to make sure that each child gets at least one of their choices and will keep a waiting list for places.
PARENT CONSULTATION will be happening on Tuesday 14th October, 3:20 – 4:30pm and Wednesday 15th October 3:20 – 6:50pm. Keep an eye out for Sign Up sheets on the class doors next week to book your appointment.
PHOTOS Don’t forget to return your family photos before Friday 17th October. Many Thanks.
Best Wishes,
