SS GREAT BRITAIN This week the Year 2 children visited the SS Great Britain as part of their topic on 'Journeys'. Both children and adults had an amazing day and thoroughly enjoyed the trip, even managing to dodge a few rain showers. HARVEST FESTIVAL Thank you for your kind donations which have now been sent to Crosspoint to help stock their food bank. CHILD-MINDERS We have a parent who is looking for a reliable Child-Minder, if you know of any please let Mrs Duce or Mrs Hedges in the office know so we can pass on this information. WEATHER Now the weather has changed from our lovely warm summer please ensure your child has a suitable coat with them at school and that they are clearly labelled with your child’s name. CAR PARK Please DO NOT walk through the Car Park to get to the mobile classrooms. We have had a couple of instances where children running through the car park have nearly been hit by a car. To ensure the safety of your children please walk on the designated paths at all times. WESTBURY CofE JUNIOR SCHOOL FIREWORK DISPLAY Friday 7th November Gates open at 6pm, Bonfire lit at 6:30, Fireworks at 7pm. Family Ticket £12 (2Adults & 2Children) available in advance from Westbury Juniors School Office or £4 per head on the night. MDSA VACANCY We are looking for a MDSA (Mid-Day Supervisory Assistant) to start after half term. Applicants must be able to work in a team, ideally hold a First Aid qualification, use their initiative, have good social skills and ideally have previous experience of working with children. The applicant will be subject to a DBS (formally CRB) check, medical clearance and will be expected to have a high level of confidentiality and trust. The post is for 1hr 20 minutes a day (5 days a week – term time only). £8.92 per day (£6.69 per hour). Application Packs are available from the school office. DINNER MENU Please see overleaf for the Dinner Menu for the next three weeks. Thankyou. SCHOOL DISCO WISH is having an Autumn Disco on Wednesday 22nd October 2014 straight after school. Please collect your child at 4pm from their classroom. The cost of the disco will be £1 and tickets will be on sale on Monday 20th & Tuesday 21st afterschool under the Pokka (back playground by the Reception Classes).
