Newsletter No.10 - 21st November 2014
Thank you to those who completed and returned the questionnaires to school. A summary of responses will shortly be available. The responses were overwhelmingly positive. One area highlighted was the opportunities for children to change things in the school and so we have decided to setup a school council. This is being led by Mrs Rockey and children will be voting for class representatives this week. Our local MP, Dr. Andrew Murrison is visiting the school next Friday and will announce the election results in assembly.
The Story Box Theatre (for all years) and History Workshops for Year 2 are visiting the school this week. The History Workshop is being funded by WISH. The Story Box Theatre is performing a play about the Three Pigs.
GOVERNOR NEWS The Governing Body currently has two vacancies for Governors on its board. Governors are an essential part of the school if you feel you would like to play a part in helping to set the vision, strategic direction, agreeing priorities and monitoring progress towards them, to secure the best possible outcomes for all the children of the school. Then please contact the school office to find out more and get a nomination form. Nominations need to be returned to Sarah Andrews - Clerk to Governors, c/o School Office, by Friday 5 December.
WISH CHRISTMAS STORY EVENING
Friday 5th December 2014, 5:30pm – 7pm. A wonderful evening of stories. Tickets are on sale from the office Monday 24th November to Friday 28th November 2014. Tickets are £2.
PARKING
A reminder that cars are not allowed on site between 8:30 – 9:30am and 2:30 – 3:45pm (Only Staff Cars and Resource Base Parents allowed during this time). This week a Child and Parent were nearly run over by a red car that
should not have been on the Nursery, Youth Centre & School Site. We ask that you do not use the drive or the car parks during school drop off/pick up time, cars parked will be challenged and asked to move.
SICKNESS & DIARRHOEA
If your child has the sickness and diarrhoea bug please remember our policy of staying at home for 48 hours after their last episode. This period is in place to try and combat the spread of sickness and diarrhoea throughout the school.
